BC + Shopify Implementation / Integration only
Option 01
Shopify to Business Central Integration Services
You already have a Shopify store and you already run Business Central. They just do not talk to each other, or they talk badly. We keep your existing storefront exactly as it is and build the integration into Business Central around the way you already work.
- Your storefront stays untouched
- Your store keeps selling throughout
- Fixed price after discovery
- Fixed price from
- $14,500 USD
- Market comparable
- $15,000 to $30,000
- Shopify storefront
- Yours, unchanged
- Business Central
- Yours, already live
- Typical duration
- 4 to 6 weeks
- Connector licence
- Included with BC
- Middleware subscription
- None
Best fit
This is the right option if
Choose integration only
Your situation looks like this
- Shopify is live and you are happy enough with the storefront
- Business Central is live and your finance team works in it
- Somebody is re-keying orders, stock or customers between the two
- Or you are paying a monthly subscription for a connector app you would rather not need
- You want the two systems joined without reopening either one
Look at another option
Choose something else if
- The storefront needs rebuilding anyway. Go to Shopify plus integration, because the catalogue structure decision is cheaper made once
- Business Central is not implemented yet. Go to full commerce implementation
- An integration is already live and misbehaving. Go to integration rescue first, because you may need remediation rather than a rebuild

What we need from you
The five things that decide the timeline
None of these are unusual, but each one is a place a project stalls when it arrives late. We ask for them in week one.
01
Business Central sandbox access
A sandbox environment plus a user with permission to install extensions and configure the connector. Your BC partner can provision this if you have one.
02
Shopify admin and a development store
Admin access to the live store for configuration review, and a development store for testing so nothing we do touches live orders.
03
Your item master, as it is
Not cleaned up first. We need to see the real state of items, variants, barcodes and units of measure, because that is what determines mapping effort.
04
Location and tax setup
Which BC locations hold sellable stock, which Shopify locations they correspond to, and how tax is currently resolved for each country you sell into.
05
A named person who can sign off
One person on your side who can approve the mapping decisions and sign the UAT scenarios. Projects without one drift, whoever is doing the work.
06
Your pricing rules, written down
Retail price, customer specific prices, discounts and promotions, and which system you consider the owner of each. If that has never been written down, the discovery stage is where we write it.
How it runs
Four to six weeks, four gates
The full six stage approach applies, compressed because Business Central and Shopify are both already live. Payments follow the gates.
01. Discover and design
We document your current Shopify and Business Central processes, product structure, price rules, inventory model, customer model, order and fulfilment process, returns and financial handling. You get a written findings note listing every data issue that would break sync. Then we decide which system owns which data, what synchronises, when, and what happens on failure.
- week 1 to 2
- gate: findings and design signed
02. Configure and develop
Connector setup, item and variant mapping, location mapping, price groups, customer matching rules, tax handling, payment mapping, job queue design and error monitoring, built in a sandbox against a Shopify development store.
- week 2 to 4
- gate: sandbox demonstrated
03. Test
Full process testing, not interface testing. Your team runs each scenario and signs it off.
- new product
- product update
- inventory update
- new customer
- order from existing customer
- new customer order
- discounted order
- multi-line order
- partial shipment
- full shipment
- cancelled order
- return
- refund
04. Go live and support
Data validation, configuration check, integration activation, user readiness and transaction monitoring, with us online through the first business day. Then hypercare, tapering from daily log review to weekly, and a documented handover to your team or your BC partner.
- week 4 to 6
- gate: first clean trading day
Cost
What integration only costs
From $14,500
USD, fixed after discovery
The figure moves with catalogue size, number of locations, whether B2B or POS channels are in scope, and how much work your item master needs before it can map. All four of those are assessed in discovery, and the fixed number is confirmed in writing before any build work starts.
There is no ongoing subscription to us and no per order fee. The Microsoft connector is included with your Business Central licence.
Published 2026 market pricing
- Shopify ERP integration, single entity, standard catalogue$15,000 to $30,000
- Shopify ERP integration, general implementation setup$10,000 to $30,000
- Shopify ERP integration, two entity B2B plus DTC$45,000 to $90,000
- Middleware subscription, ongoing$600+ per month
- North America developer rate$100 to $150 per hour
The subscription line is worth a moment. A middleware connector at $600 a month is $7,200 a year, every year, for as long as you keep selling. Against the native Microsoft connector there is no subscription at all, so over three years that line alone usually exceeds the difference between our price and a middleware vendor’s.
Frequently asked
Shopify Business Central integration questions
No. Integration only leaves the storefront exactly as it is. We work in the Shopify admin and in Business Central, not in your theme code. If a change to the storefront turns out to be genuinely necessary, for example a product structure that cannot be mapped as it stands, we tell you in discovery and you decide whether to make it or to move to the Shopify plus integration scope.
Yes. The native connector supports more than one shop, each with its own setup, products and locations. Two or three stores against one Business Central company is straightforward. Several stores fanning into multiple Business Central companies is a larger design question and we handle it as a scoped extension, quoted separately.
That is a decision made in design, not an accident discovered at cutover. You can start clean from a cutover date, or backfill a defined period of history. Backfilling costs time and carries its own risks around already-reconciled payouts, so we walk you through the trade-off and write the choice into the cutover runbook.
Usually yes, and it is one of the more common reasons people call. We map what the existing app does today, identify what the native connector covers, flag anything it does not, and plan a parallel run so orders are never in flight across two integrations at once. Dropping the subscription often funds a meaningful part of the project.
Less than they expect. Orders arrive as Business Central sales orders and follow your existing sales process to a posted invoice, using your posting groups and your dimensions. What changes is that the re-keying stops and the reconciliation gets easier, particularly on Shopify Payments payouts.
Other options
If this is not quite your situation
Option 02
Shopify plus integration
The storefront needs building or rebuilding as well.
