BC + Shopify Implementation / Shopify plus integration

Option 02

Shopify Store Development with Business Central Integration

You run Business Central and you need a storefront: a new one, or a replacement for something that is not working. We design and build the Shopify store and integrate it into Business Central as one project, so the catalogue structure is decided once instead of twice.

Why together

Building the store and the integration separately costs more

This is the argument most agencies will not make, because most agencies only do one half.

The separate route

What actually happens

A Shopify agency builds the storefront around what looks good and merchandises well. Months later an integrator arrives and finds the product structure does not map to your Business Central items: variants modelled as separate products, options that exist only in the theme, collections doing work that item categories should do, SKUs invented for the store that do not exist in the ERP.

The fix is either a rebuild of the catalogue, which the agency has already been paid for, or a layer of mapping logic that has to be maintained forever. Neither party is at fault, and you pay for both.

The combined route

What we do instead

The product structure is designed once, in discovery, against your actual Business Central item master. Variants, options, barcodes and units of measure are settled before a single theme decision is made. Collections are built from categories the ERP already understands.

The storefront is then built on a structure that maps cleanly, and the integration configuration is a matter of connecting things that were designed to connect. There is no translation layer, and nothing to maintain forever.

Scope

Shopify website development

A custom designed Shopify storefront, integrated into your Business Central back office.

Storefront build

What we do for you

Integration build

Everything from option 01, included

Theme decision

Configured theme or custom build

This single choice moves the price more than anything else in the project, so we put it in front of you in discovery rather than at the quote.

Configured theme

A premium theme, set up properly

Market rate for theme-level Shopify development in 2026: $3,000 to $5,000.

Custom build

Where a configured theme will not do

Market rate for custom Shopify theme development in 2026: $10,000 to $20,000, rising to $25,000 and above on Shopify Plus.

How it runs

Eight to twelve weeks, two tracks

Discovery is shared. After that the storefront and the integration run in parallel against the same agreed catalogue structure, and they converge at testing.

01. Discover, shared

Business processes on both sides, and critically the catalogue design: how your Business Central items, variants, barcodes and units of measure will be expressed as Shopify products, variants and options. Nothing is built until that is agreed.

  • week 1 to 2
  • gate: catalogue design signed

02. Design, both tracks

Storefront design concepts and page structure on one side. Integration architecture on the other: data ownership, sync scope, sync timing, failure handling.

  • week 2 to 4
  • gate: designs approved

03. Build, in parallel

Theme build, page templates, collections, merchandising, checkout, shipping, payment gateway, apps and analytics on the storefront track. Connector configuration, mapping, price groups, customer rules, tax and job queue on the integration track.

  • week 3 to 9
  • gate: storefront and sandbox demonstrated

04. Test, converged

The two tracks meet. Full process testing runs through the real storefront against the sandbox, so what you sign off is the experience a customer will actually have.

  • week 9 to 11
  • gate: UAT signed

05. Go live and support

Content migration completed, DNS and domain cutover, integration activated, transaction monitoring, then hypercare and training for both the storefront and the back office.

  • week 11 to 12
  • gate: first clean trading day

Cost

What Shopify plus integration costs

From $24,500

USD, fixed after discovery

The starting figure covers a configured premium theme plus the full integration scope. A custom theme build, B2B ordering requirements, migration of a large content library, or a catalogue that needs restructuring before it can map will move it up, and each of those is assessed in discovery before the number is fixed.

Shopify platform fees, theme licences, app subscriptions and payment gateway fees are yours directly and are not marked up by us.

Published 2026 market pricing

  • Shopify theme configuration build$3,000 to $5,000
  • Shopify custom theme build$10,000 to $20,000
  • Shopify Plus enterprise build$25,000 to $100,000+
  • Shopify ERP integration, single entity$15,000 to $30,000
  • Combined, bought separately$18,000 to $50,000

The bottom line in that table is the honest comparison: a storefront agency plus an integrator, engaged separately, lands in roughly the same range. What you do not see in their numbers is the catalogue rework described above, or the coordination cost of two vendors each scoping around the other.

Frequently asked

Shopify development and ERP integration questions

Yes. Content migration is in scope: products, collections, pages, blog content, customers and redirects. What needs care is the redirect map and the catalogue restructure, because a platform migration is the one moment you can fix a product structure that never mapped properly to the ERP. We treat it as an opportunity rather than a straight copy.

Yes. Everything we build lives in your Shopify account and your Business Central tenant, under your ownership. There is no x2x runtime sitting between your systems that you would need to keep paying for, and nothing that stops another agency working on the storefront later.

Yes. Shopify B2B with company accounts, company catalogs and market specific pricing is supported by the native connector, and B2B eCommerce requirements are part of the storefront scope. Where a B2B requirement goes past what the standard model expresses, such as quoting or multi-step approval, we scope it as an extension and quote it separately rather than folding it into the base price.

Basic SEO is in scope: page titles and meta descriptions, heading structure, image alt text, sitemap, structured data for products, and the redirect map if you are migrating. Ongoing content and ranking work is a separate engagement, and we will say so rather than implying a store build alone will move you up the results.

We set up and integrate third party apps and payment gateways as part of the build. The subscriptions and the merchant agreements are yours directly, contracted in your name, and we do not resell them or take a margin.

Other options

If this is not quite your situation

Option 01

Integration only

The storefront is fine. Just connect it.

Option 03

Full commerce implementation

Business Central is not live yet either.

Option 04
